Um, Yes — ClassPass Is Offering Unlimited Fitness Classes To 250+ Studios For $99/Month
*Disclaimer: This review is unsponsored and unaffiliated with ClassPass. I bought my own membership.
Go UNLIMITED.
Whether you’re blasé over a fitness routine that hasn’t changed in eons, trying to be fit-trendy and looking to hit up the latest fitness hotspot, dropping copious dollars on classes, or just want to get by and work off whatever stress/hangover/insert-other-issue that’s clogging your insane schedule — perk up.
ClassPass is completely changing the workout paradigm.
Class prices are exorbitant. Flywheel and SoulCycle run $35 a pop. Row House is $40. That can easily push $500-$700/month if you’re indulging a few times per week. If you’re most people, that’s absurd. Because of that, innovative classes are often relegated to second tier status behind a primary gym membership.
It’s sad that the costs are so prohibitive that most people can’t take advantage. And those that do often become so selective and cultish about what they know, that they’re hesitant to sweat somewhere new.
Unless you’re a lifting junkie, or just thrive on gym culture, most people don’t actually like the gym. They actually loathe it. But hey, the $220/month you begrudgingly drop on an Equinox membership is justifiable, right? But you drudge on anyway, because it’s keeping your body tight and chiseled. And you love the Kiehl’s. But in an ideal situation, you’d probably rather build a killer physique in a way that’s A) stimulating, B) guided, C) uber-motivating, D) social, and E) a hell of a lot cheaper.
Find something you love, and you’ll love to go. Fitness follows that pattern. Going is often 75% of the battle.
I fully support sweating as much as possible. And if you want to pay a premium to prioritize it, I’m with you. But I’ll take a few extra $100/month for brunch if that’s a legitimate option.

What’s The Deal With ClassPass
Image: ClassPass
ClassPass is a monthly membership plan that makes taking fitness classes a viable PRIMARY method of staying fit.
Maybe you’re looking to sweat it up at Bikram or get high at aerial yoga. Tear up your core and destroy your abs at a boot camp. Unload and punch some shit at a boxing class. Or just spin to some killer music (or underwater at AQUA) until your legs implode. Whatever your thing is, you’re likely covered (SoulCycle is the one notable exclusion, but FlyWheel’s better anyway).
ClassPass provides access to a whopping 250+ studios in NYC. The network is stacked, and it’s growing — both in and out of NYC (they recently expanded to Boston, LA, and San Fran). The full list of NYC participants is blown out on their site, but here are a few of the highlights and studio niches:
- Spinning — FlyWheel, AQUA Aquacycling, Crank
- Barre — FlyBarre, Exhale, Pure Barre
- Boxing + Kickboxing — Title, CKO Kickboxing
- Boot Camp — Barry’s Boot Camp, Warrior Fitness, WRKNYC
- Rowing — Row House, CityRow, GoRow
- Strength Training & Interval Training — Atomic Total Fitness, Beastanetics, SOHO Strength Lab
- Yoga — OM Factory, Earth Yoga, Y7 Studio
- Bikram — Bikram Yoga (various locations)
- Pilates — Bodytonic, Core Pilates, Elite Body Pilates
- Dance & Ballet — Ajna Dance, Joffrey Ballet
Under the traditional plan, they offer 10 classes anywhere in their fitness network—up to 3x per month at any particular location—for $99, which is a steal. Until September 1st, they’re letting members upgrade to UNLIMITED classes for that same $99. That’s mindblowing.
It’s a complete game changer and probably the only fitness value you’ll find in NYC. And value isn’t a thing that NYC excels at. This deal is insane. I really don’t understand how it’s practical. But hey, I’m all over it.

Once you purchase and log-in, there’s a dead-simple booking interface. ClassPass lists out every fitness class by time, date, studio, and location in a fully filterable grid. Pick your poison, hit reserve, and BAM — you’re booked, even if it’s done the same day. That’s it. It helps break down the barriers to working out.
Grab a friend, pick a random class, and get rolling. Who knows, you might get hooked on something new. Or at the very worst you’ll burn 700 calories and have a good story about how you almost died doing Bikram. Or how you finished dead-last on the Torqboard at Flywheel. Or how you were the only dude in Barre class.
Whatever. The sweat and muscle churn counts. Experiment and find your individual trigger — it’s there somewhere.

When he’s not working on his (or somebody else’s) abs, whipping up Eggocados, or running a Tough Mudder, he’s probably off yelling at a Carolina Panthers game somewhere.
